Probably my best piece all year. This was done on a massive scale of about 3' x 3'. A LOT larger than I am used to. This was obviously a nude model. This picture took up two whole studio classes of 6 hours each, so I guess you could say this took me 12 hours to complete. It is a pure mixture of white conte crayon, compressed charcoal, vine charcoal, and I believe some black conte crayon is in there also. I'm pretty proud of this piece and sure a lot more could be done to it, but 12 hours pretty much blew my mind as it is the longest I've ever worked on a single piece of art in traditional media. The other two below shots are just details of course, but click on them all to enlarge them and take a better look!
This is a full portrait. Maybe you could call it and extended bust shot. This is a model at school and this picture took about and hour and a half to complete. This was me getting so frustrated with my picture that I just started to sketch. There wasn't much drawing here. This was completed I believe in compressed charcoal on charcoal paper that was about 24"x30". Larger than I was used to but it is one of my more favorite pieces. The picture below is a detail shot of the head. Not much detail to show, but enough that I thought it deserved a better shot. Click on them to enlarge them.
